About Michael Montero
Michael Montero is a writer/correspondent for The Ring Magazine and a regular guest on several national sports radio shows. He is a voter for the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) and has contributed to numerous boxing publications for years. Montero also performs ringside commentary for live fight cards and occasionally steps in the ring as a fighter himself.
The former U.S. Marine has developed a reputation in the business as a “straight shooter” who cuts through the promotional propaganda and gives fight fans the truth as he sees it. Never afraid to ruffle feathers, Montero is both loved and hated for his infamous rants on issues in the world of boxing.
